spout pouch

A spout pouch is a specialized stand-up pouch equipped with a plastic nozzle (spout) and a re-sealable cap. It is designed to safely contain, transport, and dispense liquid, cream, or powder products. The spout is usually heat-welded into the top or the shoulder of the pouch, creating a leak-proof seal.

Key Structural Components

  • The Spout (Fitment): Made of HDPE or PP. It can be positioned at the center top (standard) or at a 45-degree angle (side spout) for easier pouring.

  • The Cap: Available in various styles, including tamper-evident (the ring breaks when first opened) or anti-choke (large, colorful caps for baby food to prevent swallowing).

  • High-Barrier Laminate: Because liquids are prone to oxidation or spoilage, these pouches often use a 3-layer or 4-layer structure (e.g., PET / NY / PE or PET / AL / NY / PE) to ensure the bag is puncture-resistant and airtight.
